Of course, the answer to this question should be YES. And obviously, it’s a clickbait title to pique your curiosity. But the question is as real as it gets: Do you want to make 1 million lei from online marketing?

The answer is yes, you can make 1 million lei from online marketing if you have a valid business and a capable marketing team.

Here are 5 examples of clients from TWOads’ portfolio with whom we’ve achieved 1 million lei in sales by mid-2024:

This account was taken over at launch in August 2023. After the first 3-4 months of data collection, we began scaling and generated 3,135,210 lei from January to May 2024. The implemented strategy was straightforward but always effective: we started with a Performance Max campaign with all products, feed only, and Maximize Conversion Value.

The audience consisted of men interested in the Home and Deco sector. After collecting sufficient data, we split into two campaigns: one category that accounted for 70% of revenue was fully built with Maximize Conversion Value, and the remaining products were in a Performance Max campaign with Maximize Conversions. Later, we added a Demand Generation campaign and a Brand Protect campaign.

Interestingly, we never used target ROAS or target CPA. We went all-in, and it worked.

One of the agency’s oldest clients; we’ve been working together since 2022, and this is the second project we manage. As one of the oldest producers in the packaging niche, brand notoriety greatly aids in achieving these figures.

Notably, the Demand Generation campaign has a CPA of 25 lei, a ROAS of 24, and 61,713 lei in sales, which is mind-blowing for this type of campaign targeting a cold audience, but lookalike audiences are doing their job well.

Things started well from the beginning; prices are very competitive, the client has a well-established system and extensive experience in the field, although the website is relatively new.

However, tracking wasn’t functioning correctly, manual bidding campaigns were used, and key products weren’t prioritized. We fixed the tracking, switched to feed-only Performance Max campaigns with Maximize Conversions, and collected clean data.

When we felt we had enough data, we tested fully built Performance Max campaigns, but results declined, which was surprising. We quickly reverted to feed-only with Maximize Conversion Value and target ROAS. Currently, we’re only running feed-only Performance Max and Brand Protect campaigns

Another client in the home and deco sector but with slightly cheaper products than the first client in this list. We’ve been working together for over a year, and the account is growing nicely. There was enough account history to achieve quick results.

We identified the top 100 products from history and separated them into a fully built Performance Max campaign with Maximize Conversion Value, while the remaining products are in a Maximize Conversions Performance Max campaign with a smaller budget.

We recently introduced a Demand Generation campaign, but it hasn’t delivered as expected, even though the niche is well-suited.

Account Statistics (January – July 2024):

  • Spend: 193,497 lei
  • Revenue: 1,294,151 lei
  • ROAS: 6.69
  • Conversions: 6,019

Although we haven’t reached the million mark with this client yet, the budgets are minimal compared to other clients (5,000 lei/month), and the cost per conversion is also much lower at just 10.08 lei/conversion. We just need to scale the budgets, which the owner isn’t yet willing to do. We’ll keep trying.

This account has a very old-school structure: search campaigns with broad match on categories of interest, classic Shopping campaigns divided by main categories, and a fully built Performance Max campaign with Maximize Conversions. Additionally, there’s a campaign targeting competitor names (yes, we know it’s not ethical) and a Brand Protect campaign.

Conclusion

Although online environments often showcase only the positive aspects—and this article does the same—the conclusion is that online marketing is just one part of the success recipe. These results wouldn’t have been possible without a good product, an adequate budget, and, of course, a well-thought-out marketing strategy.
